Sophie HeymansNever give up and believe in yourself.... This is what Sophie Heymans will tell you if you want to become an accomplished jewellery designer.

During her courses at the Art School (Imelda Institute, Brussels), her teacher observed her ability to work with metals and suggested her to study jewellery in Antwerp. A few workshops later, she knew this was her future.

Sophie Heymans spent 6 years of training going from schools to workshops in cities such as Brussels, Antwerp and London. Sharpening her skills to what she has become: a creative and inspired artist

Sophie Heymans was nominated two times for the "Diamond High Council Award" in Antwerp. This contest takes place every two years. Each nominated design travels around the world, and promotes the Antwerp diamond and the jewellery designers during prestigious exhibitions.

In 2004 Sophie Heymans started her own workshop, where she creates unique handmade pieces. She is mostly inspired by a person's appearance, and she tries to find the material that suits them perfectly.

Her biggest wish comes out in 2005: the opening of her own gallery and workshop, in the Dansaert area in the heart of Brussels.

According to Sophie Heymans there is nothing more motivating than making a living out of a passion.

Gold en silver jewellery is sawed by hand in the workshop.

At the workbench everything is precisely finished by hand.

Precious metals are turned into 18 carat in the workshop to create the wire needed for the jewels.

Jewels are getting in shape with different pliers.
